Research Grant: Teaching Basic Cybersecurity to All

It is well-known that there is a growing need for cybersecurity professionals. Moreover, a lot of people do not much about cybersecurity or basic cybersecurity concepts. There has thus been a push in teaching future cybersecurity professionals and training cybersecurity educators. Most of the work has focused on technical fields, e.g., for teachers/educators teaching cybersecurity, cybersecurity majors, computer science majors, or information technology students/professionals.

The goal of this institutional capacity building proposal is to propose a training program to teach basic cybersecurity to all educators, not just those in technical fields related to computing, information technology, or cybersecurity. The objective is that everybody, not just those in the cybersecurity field, should know basic cybersecurity. Training all types of educators will ensure that all future students (hence future workforce) are introduced to computer security and are knowledgeable in cybersecurity.
