CS Maddie Juarez Earns Honorable Mention for Undergraduate Research Award
Loyola CS student Maddie Juarez earns Honorable Mention for the CRA 2025–2026 Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award for her impactful research contributions.
We are pleased to announce that Maddie Juarez, a Loyola undergraduate student in Computer Science, has been selected for Honorable Mention for the Computing Research Association (CRA) 2025–2026 Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award (URA).
The CRA URA program recognizes undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional research ability, scholarly impact, and service to the academic community. This year’s nominee pool highlighted students who contributed to multiple research projects, authored or coauthored research publications, presented at major conferences, developed widely used software artifacts, and supported their communities through teaching, tutoring, and mentorship.
Maddie has participated in several research initiatives, including the BullyBlocker Lab (mentors: Silva, Abuhamad, and Sikdar) and the Software and Systems Lab (mentor: George), where she has made meaningful contributions to ongoing work.
The official announcement of awardees will be published in January 2026 in Computing Research News (CRN), CRA’s online publication, and the CRA website will be updated accordingly.
Congratulations to Maddie on this national recognition of her undergraduate research accomplishments.
